Marset. Taking care of light.
Marset is a family business from Barcelona whose roots reach back to a metal workshop of the 1940s – since 1965 it has devoted itself entirely to the luminaire. Under the motto “taking care of light”, it creates designs that place soft, glare-free light and atmosphere above the object. From the rechargeable classic FollowMe to the Dipping Light.
What Marset stands for.
Marset began in 1942 as a family-run metal workshop in Barcelona; in 1965 the family turned the business into a luminaire manufacturer. The company remains family-owned to this day, with headquarters and factory in Terrassa near Barcelona and its own locations in New York, Milan and Porto.
The motto “taking care of light” describes the house’s attitude: it is not the luminaire that takes centre stage but the effect of its light – soft, glare-free, atmospheric, indoors and out. Its best-known designs include the rechargeable FollowMe by Inma Bermúdez, Jordi Canudas’ colour-dipped Dipping Light and Joan Gaspar’s Ginger with its wafer-thin wooden shade.
With extensive indoor and outdoor collections, Marset is a versatile partner in lighting design – from private living spaces to hotels and restaurants.
Marset is run by the founding family and works closely with an international circle of designers: Joan Gaspar (Ginger, Plaff-on), Inma Bermúdez (FollowMe), Jordi Canudas (Dipping Light) and Mathias Hahn are among the defining names of the collection.
Marset in your project.
We plan independently of any manufacturer, choose the right luminaire for each room and task – and take care of sampling and sourcing.
