kreon. Purity in light.
The Belgian company kreon develops architectural lighting reduced to the essential. Purist recessed profiles and precise lighting tools recede behind the architecture – and in doing so bring it to the fore. The range is complemented by integrated acoustic-ceiling solutions.
What kreon stands for.
The name kreon derives from the French “crayon” – the pencil with which every design begins. Founded in the 1980s by Belgian designer Jan Van Lierde, the company, based in Oudsbergen, today produces architectural lighting and integrated acoustic-ceiling systems for projects worldwide.
The design follows a clear conviction: purity and simplicity. kreon reduces lighting solutions to the strictly necessary – guided by the principles of unity in design, simplicity in technology and precision in detail. The luminaires never impose themselves; they hold a quiet dialogue with the architecture, with light as much as with shadow.
The range extends from linear systems such as trace and product families like bar, stark and vergo to tailor-made bespoke solutions, developed together with architects for each specific space.
kreon was founded by the Belgian designer and architect Jan Van Lierde, whose purist designs shaped the brand's self-conception: light as an architectural tool, not as decoration.
Today, art director Kristof Pycke is responsible for the design direction – from the collection to project-specific bespoke solutions, always guided by simplicity, proportion and precision.
