BOMMA. Bohemian crystal, rethought.
Since 2012, BOMMA has been shaping crystal into sculptural light in one of Europe’s most advanced glassworks. Around 300 employees combine Bohemia’s centuries-old glassmaking tradition with state-of-the-art production – blowing crystal by hand in dimensions long considered technically impossible.
What BOMMA stands for.
BOMMA is a Czech crystal glassworks in eastern Bohemia – a region where glass has been blown for centuries. Founded in 2012, the manufactory now ranks among the most advanced glassworks in the world: craftsmanship and in-house technology development go hand in hand, from furnace to cut.
BOMMA’s glassmakers blow crystal in monumental sizes, constantly probing what is physically and technically possible. Alongside its own collections, the glassworks also produces bespoke pieces for international luxury brands.
Collections such as Phenomena, Pebbles, Soap and Dark & Bright Star show the breadth of the house: from archaically pure elementary forms to multi-part constellations of light that can be freely composed into ensembles.
BOMMA works closely with the Czech design scene: Dechem Studio designed the Phenomena and Pyrite collections, Boris Klimek the playful Pebbles, Studio deFORM the optically inspired Lens series and Olgoj Chorchoj the Tim light.
The result is a signature that belongs less to a single author than to the glassworks itself – carried by the precision of its glassmakers.
BOMMA in your project.
We plan independently of any manufacturer, choose the right luminaire for each room and task – and take care of sampling and sourcing.
